About

Hi my name is Rebecca Ness and I am a travel lover, mother of two, art enthusiast, yoga fiend, health nut, and online marketer. My life has been full of all kinds of wonderful adventure and experience, but also many challenges.

My goal is to help as many moms and dads as possible, empower themselves to create time freedom in their lives, by learning to leverage the internet and create a unique, value-based website or blog based on their current business or passion.

But first let me introduce myself…

GREECE: When I was eight, my mom and two of her girlfriends took all seven of their kids, including my sister and I, to Greece for 2 months. The dads stayed home to work and sail around the great lakes. Back then, we were practically the only tourists in Greece (Crete) and our stay was absolutely magical. The experience sparked a lifelong love for travel in me and I have continued on in my mother’s open minded way since then.

FRANCE: After my first year of University, and trying to figure out what to major in, I decided to take a year off and move to Paris, France to be an ‘au pair’. It was another life changing time and I still keep in touch with the friends I made there. From Paris I was able to visit London, Switzerland, Amsterdom, and the south of France. Needless to say, when I returned to Canada, I decided to major in French and minor in Fine Art. I was able to do a second year in Nice, France through my University. There were 25 of us from Canada at the University of Nice and we had a blast. We went to Monaco for the Grand Prix, Cannes for the film festival, and many other mini excursions I will never forget. In the end, I gradudated with an Honours BA in French and Fine Art and had a whole lot of fun doing it.

ASIA/AUSTRALIA: Fast forward a couple years to graduating from University… and the fact that finding a ‘regular’ job did not appeal to me at all. So I grabbed a backpack and headed across the ocean for a year in South East Asia and Australia. From Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand to Darwin, Perth, Ayers Rock, Cairns, Brisbane, and Sydney… I can not tell you how free and happy I felt the whole time, and I dreaded having to ‘settle’ down once I went home.

JAPAN: I was home for about a year when the opportunity to work in Japan came up. Of course, I didn’t hesitate at all. In Japan, I spent one year just outside Tokyo teaching English and met an old friend from University, who later became my boyfriend, and we ended up spending four more years together in mountain and hot-spring riddled Nagano prefecture…eventually opening our own English school as well as a hiking/touring company for foreigners in Japan. We traveled a lot within Japan and climbed Mt.Fuji, and traveled from Japan on holidays… to places like Korea, Myanmar, Vietnam, France, the Philipines, and Australia. We also did a lot of yoga and studied the language daily. We ended up being five years in Japan and at that point we had to make a decision on whether to stay or move on. We decided to move back to Canada and open an Aussie pie shop in Whistler BC called “Shakespeares” with a Canadian/Aussie couple who we had become friends with.

COSTA RICA: Forty of our friends and family met us in in Costa Rica on the way home to Canada and we got married there.

WHISTLER, B.C.: The pie shop was a great experience but the partnership was not. After two years, we sold out to our partners. I learned that small business ownership, especially retail food,  is not for me because there is less freedom in it than working for someone else. It was a constant headache, especially with staffing, and we were there ALL they time. It was a learning lesson, as everything in life is. During that time, I had my son, Keenan, who was a healthy, happy boy who smiled all the time. (and still does) The day we sold our part of the shop was a great relief to me because I felt that I had regained my freedom.

CANMORE, ALBERTA: We bought a house in Canmore, Alberta and fixed it up that summer. In October, a friend who we’d met in Japan, made a business proposition to my husband to work with him in California that was too good to pass up. So we packed up the baby, our bikes, and the basic essentials, rented our house out, and drove to sunny Palm Springs. My husband and his partner built houses down there (mid-century modern style which was all the rave) and I was a stay at home mom for four and a half years.

CALIFORNIA: We had our daughter, Tanyss, in California. By this time, I was learning and reading as much as I could about health, nutrition and natural living. We had a home birth with Tanyss, and a wonderful circle of friends who were healthy and free-spirited. We explored most of southern California with the kids. The drawback was that I wasn’t allowed to work in the States. So I was feeling a little constricted and always had my eyes open for opportunity. One day, I discovered my first  home based business opportunity in the park which was network marketing. I loved the natural products, so I jumped in without hesitation as a way to continue to be home with my kids and have time freedom in my life. I did pretty well with it for a few years but in the end, I got tired of booking and doing home parties and took a break from it. But I never let go of the idea of network marketing being a really great way to create wealth and stayed open to it.

KELOWNA, B.C.: We moved back to Canada in 2006 just when real estate took a nose dive in the States. That was close! We bought a house and a condo in Kelowna because of it’s location and climate. The years in Kelowna were a struggle in many ways. We were no longer bringing in a regular income and had to create new ones. In Kelowna, I started learning as much as I could about internet marketing. It was a period of trial and error, late nights, and frustration. I learned a TON about marketing online but I did not have a clearly defined plan of business at the time. If you have ever tried online marketing, you probably know what I mean.

We were still 4000 km from family, and my father passed away from cancer during that time. When he died, we made the decision to move home to Ontario to be near family. It’s too bad that it takes something like that to make your realize what’s really important in life. In the end, we sold our house, rented the condo, bought a 24 foot RV and drove across Canada  to be near our three other parents, cousins, and siblings. On the up side, traveling by RV is a fun way to travel with kids and I we had a great trip across Canada in it.

COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO: After years of adventure, I realized that being near family is really the most important thing. But travel is still a top priority and a huge passion. For me, being able to travel and make lasting memories with my kids is really important. Life is short and it’s so important to enjoy it.

So now we are in Collingwood on the shores of Georgian Bay and only 15 minutes from ski hills. There are not many job opportunities here which is why I have committed to building my online business. My goal is to help other moms (and dads) at home to empower themselves to create an extra stream on income based on something they are passionate about or around their business, by leveraging the internet. And it really just makes sense in this day and age, considering the dying economy and the growing internet presence …there really is nothing else that can guarantee your future security besides taking control of  it yourself.

One of the most  important things to remember if you are going to start an online business is to do it from a place a passion. I want to help you package your passion into a value based website or blog that is unique to you, and I want to show you how to get traffic to your website and want to show you how to do it so that you own it and are proud of it.

I am also working for our local school board on the side because I love being around kids all day… it reminds me of what is really important in life, and keeps my focused on my long term goals. You know… we really did learn everything  we need to know in life in kindergarten!

So while I am working at my part time job, I am also committed to creating a life of true freedom with an online business so that I can enjoy quality time with my family and continue to travel the world.

If you would like to work together, have fun, travel more, and take control of your life using today’s technology, contact me directly. I would love to talk with you in person.
