Job vs Business: Does It Even Make Sense To Work From Your Home?

Does it make more sense to work from your home or to go out and get a job?

For most people, getting a job seems to be the obvious choice. Having the security of a regular paycheck coming in is appealing… and bills have to be paid. Owning a business takes time to build and the uncertainty of income is too stressful for most people.

But consider this… J.O.B. may very well stand for ‘just over broke’ because that is usually where you end up. In a job you get your paycheck, then you pay taxes, then you pay your expenses, and what is left is what you can save. That amount is usually not much if any. Most people have a debt load that is 120% of their disposable income so there is normally more month than money left at the end of the month. Not to mention the fact that someone else is in control of whether or not you even get paid.

Compare to owning a business… where you make your income, then you invest or spend on expenses, and THEN you pay taxes. You are using pre-tax dollars to spend on expenses which means the government gets paid last. In a job, the government gets paid first. Even if it’s just to save on taxes, owning a business just makes sense.

If you do join a network marketing company, make sure you realize that, contrary to what some people will promise you, it is not a way to make money fast. Network marketing is something you do over a 5-10 year period, consistantly, in order to grow a long term residual income. It’s not a get rich quick scheme and and if you want to make money fast, then network marketing is not a good choice for you. Creating leverage and building a team in network marketing takes consistent effort over time. Patience and committment are crucial.

The best scenario would be to work your job in order to live now, while you build a slow growing residual income part time for the future. Eventually, your business income will surpass your job income, and you will have true freedom. Most people quit network marketing after 3 months on average and say it doesn’t work. But stick with any network company for at least 5 years… and you WILL succeed.
