As a busy mother, I feel it is my duty to go out of my way not be afraid to take risks and do things that would otherwise scare me. I mean, how else am I going to teach my kids to face their fears and live their best life?
So today, I am facing one of my fears and ‘coming out of the closet’ about something… But first, I want to share one of my favourite quotes with you about overcoming fear and being the best you can be. It really exemplifies what so many women and moms experience, especially if they are in the home based business industry…
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measrue. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world; there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that othe people won’t feel insecure about you. We were all meant to shine as children.. it is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconscioulsy give other people permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others.”
- Marianne Williamson’s except to A Return to Love-
It took me 6 years to get over my fears of what people would think of me if they knew I was in network marketing but I am happy to say I have pushed through that and am now PROUD to say I am a network marketing mom who has chosen this industry.
When I started my first home based business 6 years ago, I saw something big. I jumped in but was a ‘closet network marketer’ for many years. I was scared of what people would think of me doing ‘one of those things’ and so I did not promote myself in public and if I did, I made it seem very trivial. In the end, I let others dictate my actions and I set limits for myself based on fear. Instead of simply stepping up to the plate, owning my decision to work from home, and doing my very best, for the sake of my children.
I am a network marketing mom who is going for my dreams and really do not care if you join me or not. Don’t get me wrong… the invitation if there for you… but if it’s not up your alley… or you want to work with a different team then so be it. You will find your path to fulfillment and everyone needs to find their own path.
Over the years, as I sat in the home business sidelines, I witnessed so many women dig themselves out of dark places with this industry that I absolutely have faith in it and KNOW it works if you treat it as the business it is. I have personally seen waitresses retire their husbands, starving actresses purchase the home of their dreams, doctors finally get time to spend with their kids, and real estate agents take down their licences to name a few.
Network Marketing is just as legitimate as any other industry you can think of… but the benefits are so much greater. I think that because the benefits are so great, people assume there is something fishy about it. But as Paul Zane Pilzner, Nobel Prize Winning Economist, says “Of all the entrepreneurial opportunities available today, one of the most important is direct selling, also called network marketing.”
I encourage anyone who is looking for a change in their life, whether it’s financial or personal, to consider network marketing. It may seem scary to do something you thought you would never consider… but honestly… what are your other options for really making a change?
The beautiful thing about network marketing is that you can do with it part time while you continue to work your day job. David Bach, author of ’Smart Women Finish Rich’ says ‘The simplicity of network marketing is that you find something you believe in, use it yourself, and tell others about it.”
My ultimate goal with my network marketing business is to help as many other women and moms as possible step into their light and to shine both physically and financially.
To facing your fears and living your dreams,
Rebecca
