2012: Eliminate Information Overload in Your Online Home Business

December 31, 2011

Work From Home

A couple months ago, I had to take a step away from my online home business and away from the internet in general. In a nutshell, I had information overload. I was spending all my time trying to learn new skills and like so many online marketers, was not actually getting anything accomplished.

The breaking point came when my ‘mentor’ came out with yet another new product and started promoting it like crazy to his ‘team’. I realized I was not working from the heart anymore. So not only did I not join this new and amazing ‘opportunity’, but I am proud to say that in the last two months, I have realigned my plans for online home business with what I really want and what will make me happy other than money.

…And that is to have more fun with my kids on a daily basis, travel more, and to live an abundantly healthy life. I mean, if you are going to do something longterm, it has to be fun and it has to be something you will enjoy getting up to every morning with enthusiasm, right?

The break from my online home business was refreshing but at the same time, I knew it was the only way I would be able to quit my job and really own my life. I absolutely understood the power of marketing on the internet but I needed to change directions. What do they say about the definition of insanity? …doing the same thing over over and expecting different results?

But… If you can figure out why something can not be done, by law, you must be able to figure out how it can be done. People who accomplish great things are aware of the negative, but they give all their mental energy to the positive.

So this year brings new meaning for me because I have wiped the slate clean and am starting fresh and focusing on what I CAN do. I have found someone who does not have ulterior motives to really help me learn what I need to learn about marketing online in a way that makes sense for a change. I am focusing on one or two marketing strategies and spending a little time every day doing them. Other than that, I am nuturing my mind and body and being the best mom I can be.

To start with I have made some changes. This past week I cut my hair off, quit my job, and made a decision to create a value based online home business in order to really own my life. It’s a liberating feeling and I know that I am heading for a fun year of growth and abundance.

The main thing is that no matter what business you are in, never lose sight of your values. Stay focused, especially when it comes to the internet, and remember that no matter where you are in your business, you can build a thriving online presence in ANY industry by simply staying true to your vision, getting a solid marketing plan in place, and connecting with people like you have want to work in an ethical and meaningful way.

So say goodbye to information overload in 2012 because this is the year to really empower yourself in every way.

Happy New Year!
